Hyundai Santa Cruz: Cooling System / High Flow Electronic Oil Pump (HF EOP)

- Description

• The high-flow electric oil pump for lubrication/cooling consists of the motor, pump and the inverter.

• EOP (Electric Oil Pump) can be operated as much as the amount of oil required for cooling regardless of the engine RPM.

• It supplies the lubricant to the lubricant passages of the clutch cooling and gear.

• When the IG is turned ON, it is operated with 500 RPM for 2~5 seconds 1 time.

• It supplies the lubrication oil all the time while engine is running.

• Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.(Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points")

1.Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

2.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")

3.Disconnect the high flow electric Oil Pump (HF EOP) connector (A).

4.Loosen the bolts and then removing the high flow electric oil pump (HF EOP) (A).

Tightening torque:20.5 - 26.4 N.m(2.1 - 2.7 kgf.m, 15.1 - 19.5 lb-ft)

• When remove the HF EOP, replenished with the same amount of the oil that leaked while removing.

- Installation

1.To install, reverse the removal procedures.

• When replacing the High Flow Electric Oil Pump (HF EOP), it must be installed according to the vehicle specifications as the part numbers differ depending on the vehicle model. ※ If incorrect part is assembled, the High-Flow Electric Oil Pump (HF EOP) may not work and the vehicle may not be driven forward/backward. Therefore, make sure to check the part specification before assembling.

• Before installing, check whether the 4 O-rings (A) of new HF EOP are seated in place.

• Replace the O-ring (A) for the exhaust port with a new one.

2.Refil the lubricant / cooling oil and then checking the oil level.(Cooling System - "Dual Clutch Transmission Lubricant / Cooling Oil")

3.Check whether the vehicle can be driven forward/backward while engine is running.

4.Use the diagnostic device to diagnose DCT HF EOP faults. Check the HF EOP forced drive procedure in the diagnostic. Perform it to check if it works properly.
