Hyundai Santa Cruz: Fuel Delivery System / Delivery Pipe

- Removal Low Pressure Delivery Pipe

1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line. (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line")

2.Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

3.Remove the engine cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Cover")

4.Disconnect the injector connector (A).

5.Disconnect the fuel feed quick-connecotrs (A).

6.Remove the delivery pipe mounting bolts (A).

Tightening torque :18.7 - 23.5 N·m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf·m, 13.8 - 17.3 lb·ft)

   

• Open the clamp cover (A) before disconnect the quick connector. (If the clip is applied)

   

• When removing the quick-connnector with the clip removing tool (A), be careful not to damage the plastic clip (B).

• If the clip is damaged, it can cause a fuel leak due to bad connection and could result in a fire.

7.Remove injector from the delivery pipe (A) by opening the fixing clip on either side.

High Delivery Pipe

1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line. (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line")

2.Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

3.Remove the engine cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Cover")

4.Disconnect the ignition coil connector (A).

5.Remove the head cover foam (B).

6.Remove the high pressure pump foam (A).

7.Remove the air cleaner assembly.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")

8.Remove the intercooler inlet hose.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Intercooler")

9.Loosen the high pressure fuel pipe flange nut (A, B) using the SST (09314-L1100).

Tightening torque29.4 - 35.3 N.m (3.0 - 3.6 kgf.m, 21.7 - 26.0 lb-ft)

10.Loosen the function block mounting bolt (A).

Tightening torque9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb·ft)

11. Remove the intake manifold.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Intake Manifold")

12.Remove the injector foam (A).

13. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe flange nut (A).

14. Remove the delivery pipe & injector assembly after loosening the mounting bolts (B).

Tightening torqueA : 29.4 - 35.3 N.m (3.0 - 3.6 kgf.m, 21.7 - 26.0 lb-ft)B : 18.7 - 23.5 N·m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf·m, 13.8 - 17.3 lb·ft)

15. Disconnect the injector & rail pressure sensor connectors (A).

16. Remove injector from the delivery pipe (A) by opening the fixing clip on either side.

- Installation

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.

   

• Use the spaner torque wrench (27mm) to install the high pressure fuel pipe.

• Do not reuse the high pressure fuel pipe.

• Be careful not to transform the shape of the high pressure fuel pipe.

• Torque wrench should not be tilt when you tighten the nut.

• Follow the order and the tightening torque when you assemble.

• Inspect fuel leakage after high pressure fuel pipe assembly.
