Hyundai Santa Cruz: Intake And Exhaust System / Muffler

- Components

1. Front muffler
2. Catalytic converter & center muffler
3. Rear muffler
4. Gasket
5. Hanger


- Removal and Installation Front Muffler

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2.Remove the front muffler heat protector.

Tightening torque :9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

3.Remove the front muffler (A) after removing the hanger mounting nut (B).

Tightening torque :Hanger mounting nut : 30.0 - 46.0 N.m (3.0 - 4.7 kgf.m, 21.7 - 34.0 lb-ft)Front muffler mounting nut : 39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)

4.Install in the reverse order of removal.

   

• When installing, replace with new gaskets.

Catalytic Converter & Center Muffler

1.Remove the catalytic converter & center muffler (A) after detaching the catalytic converter & center muffler hanger (B).

Tightening torque :39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)

2.Install in the reverse order of removal.

   

• When installing, replace with new gaskets.

Rear Muffler

1.Remove the rear muffler (A) after detaching the rear muffler hanger (B).

Tightening torque :39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb-ft)

2.Install in the reverse order of removal.

   

• When installing, replace with new gaskets.
